Miss Italia is the national beauty pageant of Italy. It started in the year 1939. Salsomaggiore Terme was the annual host to the pageant, but in 2011 the venue changed to Montecatini Terme. Since 1987 the pageant has been broadcasted live on television. Enzo Mirigliani is the organizer of Miss Italia since the year 1959.

The pageant has been through many changes. Since 1990, chest, waist, and hip measurements of the contestants were no longer taken in account. In the year 1994, the contest opened to married women and mothers. Denny Mendez, Miss Italia 1987 is the first woman of colour to win the national pageant.

The reigning queen of Miss Italia is Rachele Risaliti. She was crowned at the end of the coronation ceremony on 10th September 2015 and now works as a model.
