Miss World New Zealand is an annual national beauty pageant in New Zealand established in 1951, that selects representatives for Miss World, Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Intercontinental and Miss Tourism International. Although no New Zealander has won the Miss World title, two have placed as first runner-up.

Miss New Zealand pageant abides by the axiom of Beauty with a Mission. The concept of Beauty with a mission is the heart and essence of the pageant. Following the objective of the Miss World Organisation, Miss World New Zealand decided to emulate the same and introduced the concept of charity and aids as the core basis of the pageant.

The pageant reached its peak in the year 1980, when the event was televised on TVNZ. From the year 2005-2007 no national pageant was held, however in 2007 an Auckland community trust bought the franchise and the pageant was held to select the country's representative to Miss World 2008 held in May 2008.

The winner of Miss World New Zealand goes on to represent New Zealand at the Miss World pageant. 

The first runner-up of Miss World New Zealand represents her country at the Miss International. In the year 1960, New Zealand made a debut at the Miss International and won the first ever title in the year 1971.

The second runner-up of Miss World New Zealand represents her country at the Miss Intercontinental. The third runner-up represents at the Miss Tourism Queen International. New Zealand has never won any crown at the Miss Tourism Queen International, however, in the year 2009 Natalie Jean Sangster made it to the Top 20 finalists. And finally, the fourth-runner up goes on to represent New Zealand at the Miss Grand International pageant.
