Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico (Miss World Puerto Rico) is an annual national beauty pageant held as an independent event since the year 1996.

Delia Cruz, the mother of Puerto's Rico only Miss World till date Wilnelia Merced Cruz, is the President of Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico organization and Shanira Blanco, former beauty queen and TV personality, is the current national director.

Prior to 1995, Puerto Rico's representatives at Miss World were sent from other national pageants. Puerto Rico debuted in Miss World in 1959, then was absent from 1960 to 1969. In 1970 a new organization took the responsibility of sending contestants until 1985 via castings.

Puerto Rico did not compete in Miss World from 1986 to 1988. The Miss Puerto Rico organization, directed by Anna Santisteban, obtained the Miss World franchise in 1989 and sent the first runner-up of Miss Puerto Rico to Miss World until 1995.

And in 1996, Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico was launched.

Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2013 is Nadyalee Torres from Caguas who was crowned as the winner on April 24' 2013. She competed in Miss World 2013 pageant and was placed Top 11.

The reigning Miss World Puerto Rico (Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico) is Genesis Davila. She was crowned at the Theater of the School of Fine Arts in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. She represented Puerto Rico at the Miss World 2014 pageant, however was unplaced. The finals of Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2015 is scheduled to be held on August 8’ 2015, and the end of the coronation night, Genesis will crown her successor.
