The 16th edition of Miss Earth pageant, Miss Earth 2016 hosted its coronation night on 29th October 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Philippines. At the conclusion of the event finale, Katherine Espín of Ecuador was crowned the new queen by her predecessor Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong of Philippines.
This year's edition also featured the newly polished and modified crown created by Florida-based jeweller, Ramona Haar. The crown is an original design from the 2009 edition of the pageant to enhance the crown's general appearance and to have an intimate fit to the head of the winner.
