Alissa Musto is Miss Massachusetts 2016 for Miss America 2017

Alissa Musto, from Rehoboth, was crowned Miss Massachusetts 2016 in the 77th annual Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Pageant at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester on 2nd July 2016. The victory has earned Alisa a place in the reputed Miss America pageant to be held in the month of September at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The multi-talented beauty Allisa will hope to be a successor to the reigning Miss America -Betty Cantrell from Georgia.

Alissa also won in the preliminary talent category of the pageant. She is a renowned American pianist and singer. In her bag of prior achievements, Alissa boasts of victory in 2007 New England Performs competition, the 2008 championship title for “Rhode Island’s Got Talent. She has a 2015-released album - What We Saw from the Piano- to her credit. Alissa also performed at various significant charity and music events across America over the past few years.
 
 
Alissa Musto is majoring in government at the Harvard University.
 
At the same event, Jillian Zucco of Mattapoiset was named 1st runner-up; Brianna Bostick of East Taunton was 2nd runner-up, and Alyssa Weathersby of Jamaica Plain declared 3rd runner-up.
 
Alissa will become the first contestant from Massachusetts to become Miss America, if she is crowned in September at the mega event. The beauties from Massachuttes who came closest to winning the pageant were Miss Massachusetts 2001 Abbie Rabine, Miss Massachusetts 1968 Catherine Monroe, and Miss Massachusetts 1944 Paulina McKevitt. All of them were placed as first runner up.
 
Also, Alyssa Maitoza was crowned Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen 2016 at the same event. Apart from winning $500 scholarship, Alyssa will represent her state in Orlando, Florida, in early August.
