Binibining Pilipinas pageant has kicked off with the announcement of the 40 finalists who will be competing for the coveted title this year. The Bb Pilipinas Organisation is taking the competition a notch up this year, as there is a change in the format of the pageant this year. According to the Organisation, this year’s edition of the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant will give bigger score to the interview portion, a.ka. the Q&A.
Now, that’s a great move by the organisation. This has been done to keep up with the new Miss Universe format. Under the new format, the candidates will get to flaunt their ability to articulate themselves under pressure while sharing a thoughtful, well-informed response during Preliminary and Final Competition. When you see this sort of conviction and dedication from the Organisation itself, you understand why and how the country manages to produce a front runner, year after year.
While this change in the format will be one strong factor to wait for this year’s pageant, there are other factors too that makes this edition more exciting. Now, this year we might witness a bit of sibling rivalry on the Bibining Pilipinas stage, as sisters Dindi and Kimberly Pajares compete for the crown.

This is Dinid Pajares second try at the Bb Pilipinas pageant, as she also competed last year bagging the Top 15 slot. In 2011, Dindi joined Miss Philippines Earth, where she made it to the Top 20. Kimberly is also not a newbie in the pageant, as she competed at Miss World Philippines 2014 and finished in the Top 20. The Pajares sisters received their Binibini numbers this week — Kimberly is #11 and Dindi is #24. A total of six titles are at stake this year at Bb Pilipinas 2017, who knows, it could be one title for each sister maybe?

Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 2 finalist Katarina Rodriguez is also competing for the title this year. Kata is now officially Binibini 31 for Bb. Pilipinas 2017 pageant under Aces and Queens Beauty camp. Katarina is a perfect amalgamation of beauty, grace and innocence, and her pictures are evidence as to why she is a strong bet this year at the Bb Pilipinas 2017 pageant. Standing tall at 5'6, Rodriguez has caused waves on pageant and modelling world in the Philippines, and now the beauty queen is all set to take on the world with her killer looks. What do you think?

Another reason can be the gorgeous beauty queen Mae Liezel Ramos. Lezel first joined the pageant in 2014, where she (along with Wurtzbach) finished in the Top 15. She joined again in 2015, but failed to place. This is her third try at Bb Pilipinas, and everybody is hoping Liezel too can pull of a Pia Wurtzbach in her third try, and might as well win the Miss Universe 2017 crown. Ramos, 26, is a licensed nurse and is also a certified island girl.
