At the conclusion of the grand finale of Miss Universe Singapore 2016 held on October 16th 2016, Cheryl Chou emerged as the winner, and was crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2016 by the outgoing queen Lisa Marie White.
Cheryl also won the special awards for Miss Aspirational and Miss Photogenic. She will now go to Philippines to compete in Miss Universe 2016.
Cheryl is 20 years of age and stands tall at 170 cm. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor in Fine Arts (Fashion Media and Industries) at Lasalle College of the Arts. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Suzhou, China and stayed there for three years before moving on to Shanghai, where she graduated high school and did her International Baccalaureate studies.
She is a fitness and health junkie who loves to cook and exercise, and even wakes up at 4am in the morning just to squeeze in a good workout before school. She has also adopted a largely plant-based diet and is a vegan.

When asked her final question "What do you believe is to the essence of a true Singapore woman?", she replied confidently "A true Singapore woman is a woman who is confident in her own skin, who is not afraid to follow her own dreams, and someone who is not afraid of failure. Failure is big part of your life, and its failure that shapes and moulds you into a person that you are today. A true Singapore woman is independent and strong as well, and she is not afraid to chase her goals."
Tanisha Lissa Khan was adjudged the first runner-up, and Sonya Elisabeth Branson finished as the second runner-up. Top 5 also included Joeypink Lai and Luisa Gan.

Other special awards announced during the finals were
Turf Belle 2016 - Joeypink Lai
Miss Sporty Chic - Venessa Tiara Tay
Miss Bikini - Poojaa Gill
Fifteen finalists competed at the grand finale to get the opportunity to represent Singapore at Miss Universe 2016 stage.
