On May 28’ 2016, the Foundation of Suriname Beauties Pageant, also known as "Tropical Beauties Suriname” organised a “Fashion Show: Who Are They” event. The Fashion show included various fashion rounds which portrayed the different fashion trends of Suriname. What made the event even more interesting was a string of musical performances various bands.

By the end of the Fashion Show, the finalists for Miss Tropical Beauties Suriname 2016 were announced. A total of twelve finalists have been shortlisted to compete at the finals this year. The twelve stunners of Miss Tropical Beauties Suriname 2016 are - Natalie Sahit, Cherely Wielingen, Wendy Hey, Vanity Itieman, Daryola Brandon, Jaleesa Pigot, Sherain Troenoredjo, Jahira Lobles, Rochelle Afoedinie, Charelle Tjon-A-Loi, Fabielle Joval and Chagnaz Frankel (GFC).

The central focus of the pageant this year is to carry social projects, majorly targeting children. Money was also raised during the event, for the social projects that the Organisation is aiming for this year. At the end of the evening, the sash ceremony was conducted, wherein the finalists were given their respective regional sashes as Miss Tropical Beauties of Suriname 2016 delegates.
