Daniella Walcott, who was placed as first runner up at Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2015, has been now officially appointed as Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2016. Now the beauty queen will represent Trinidad and Tobago at forthcoming Miss World 2016.
She was appointed Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2016 at a small ceremony held on April 8’ 2016 at Cara Suites and Conference Centre, Claxton Bay, wherein Kimberly Farah Singh at Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2015 was also present.
According to the sources, the ceremony was expected to be held later this month or early next month.
In a press release which was released on April 8’ 2016, Vanessa Sahatoo-Manoo, director of Oneness Entertainment Trinidad and Tobago Ltd, the local franchise holder for the pageant stated that the intimate ceremony was a method of cutting costs and maximising training time.

She further added: “The committee in its deliberations to choose a 2016 representative took into consideration the current economic status of corporate Trinidad and Tobago as well. It was felt that having regard for the costs needed to effectively host a 2016 pageant, any sponsorship and funding will be better utilised in preparing the 2016 delegate.”
Kimberly Farah Singh, Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2015 posted on her Facebook page: “It is the dawning of a new day. As one season ends, it gives way to open doors. I have grown and learnt so much during the past few months: I am stronger and wiser. I have seen the unending love and support from my fellow citizens, where there is unity, there is strength. That strength was sent thousands of miles away to me, when I needed it the most. I choose to end my journey in positivity, with grace, extending a heart of love, not for anyone else but for my sake and peace of mind. I anticipate all that this new season will bring, the windows of opportunities have been pushed ajar. Thank you Trinidad and Tobago. God can indeed move mountains.”
Daniella Walcott expressed her gratitude saying - “Words can not merely express the gratitude that I have for receiving such an honour. I am honoured to have been chosen as Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2016; I hold this title as a great privilege and treasure. I am grateful for all of the lessons that life has gifted me, they made me stronger, humble, gentle, happier, kinder and more passionate about staying on my life purpose and pursuing it with all of my heart no matter the obstacles that are simply illusions.”
