“Watching the debate, the artist Barry Blitt recognized a significant moment in the presidential campaign,” Françoise Mouly wrote in the preview of the cover. Of all Trump’s controversial beliefs, Blitt said, his misogyny "might just be his Achilles’ heel."

The whole Alicia controversy has garnered support for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, but Trump has since been struggling to break free. Trump did try to dismiss all the allegations and made a statement a day after the debate. Trump said Machado had “gained a massive amount of weight, and it was a real problem.” Trump also said that he was the one who spared Machado when others wanted to fire her as Miss Universe.

Well who would have thought that the controversy would take such a turn? The New Yorker Magazine will be published on 10th October.
