Katherine Espin of Ecuador won the second Miss Earth crown for her country in October 2016, and not just fans from Ecuador but the whole world celebrated her victory. Katherine stepped up on her duties right after her crowning, and the beauty queen has been actively attending events as the reigning Miss Earth. In just 2 months, Katherine has made her impression as a true beauty queen.
In fact, recently El Universo, the most prestigious newspaper in Ecuador, listed Katherine as one of the most influential and important characters of 2016 due to her successful triumph at Miss Earth. Now, that’s something really commendable. The paper mentioned how Katherine defeated contenders from various countries to clinch the title.

Katherine returned to Ecuador for holidays, but did remember to carry out her environmental activities in her country. In fact, the beauty queen celebrated the most exciting festival of the west with the children of her city. The gorgeous made sure that this Christmas brings happiness to many kids by doing her best to throw a grand party for them. The beauty queen also appeared on the cover of El Especialito magazine, which is widely distributed and loved by U.S. Hispanic communities.
Katherine was selected from amongst 83 contestants who contested to get the coveted title after Angelia Ong, the Miss Earth 2015. Beautiful Katherine of Ecuador was crowned as the Miss Earth Air 2016, on 29 October’ 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, where she was honoured with the title and dazzle in the crown, along with Miss Earth Air Michelle Gomez of Colombia and Miss Earth Fire Bruna Zanardo of Brazil.
