23 years old Grace Wanene from Kenya is one of our favourites for Miss Earth 2016. Standing tall at an amazing height of 170cm, Grace is currently a Student and also a Youth Leader. “Being a youth leader in my community, at one time I conducted a mentorship session that lasted for about 18 hours. That was really meaningful to the girls as they were very vulnerable and also satisfying to me despite the long hours.”

Talking about her environmental advocacy, Grace says, “Lack of conservation education is causing lots of Human-Wildlife Conflict, leading to competition for scarce resources, to loss and degradation of habitat, biodiversity and protected areas. My advocacy is conservation awareness education, a tool that I confidently believe in; in passing the conservation agenda to the current and future generations who become eco-conscious and conservation leaders and sensitizing, enlightening and empowering our communities on their conservation roles.”

Grace is child to a single parent and also has two younger sisters. Her younger sister who is the second is also a beauty queen with numerous titles to her name. The youngest one who is 18 years is innovative and uses art as a form of therapy to orphaned and vulnerable children in the county.

If crowned as Miss Earth 2016 she will promote tourism in Kenya that is both the white sand beaches and numerous national parks and conservancies. There is also beautiful beadwork from Kenya that she believes should be a part of everyone’s wardrobe as it is bright and colourful and adds joy to life.

Grace Wanene is a very responsible, charismatic and warm hearted person. She tries to bring smiles and peace to every individual she encounters.

23 years old Grace is so elegant and so beautiful. She is all set to represent Kenya at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant, where she hopes to get crowned by the reigning Miss Earth Angelia Gabrena Ong.
