22 year old Jung Eun-ju has been chosen as a representative of Korea for Miss World 2015. The Miss World Korea Organisation announced on their website that Jung Eun-ju from Seoul has been handpicked to represent Korea at the Miss World 2015 which will be held in Sanya, China later this year. The reason behind sudden selection of the candidate is because the Miss World Korea pageant has been postponed till next year.
Jung Eun-ju was the first runner-up at the Miss World Korea 2014. Korea’s last placement at the Miss World was in the year 2011 when Kyung-min Doe as Top 7 finalist. Korea made its debut at the Miss World in the year 1959. Since 2011, Korea is holding a separate pageant for Miss World. In 1960, Korea got their first placement in Miss World. Korea placed in 1963, 1965, 1988, 1993, 1995, 2005, 2009, 2011 also. Korea did not compete in 1972 and 2002 and won “Best Evening Gown” in 2001 & 2007. Korea won the first official “Beauty with a purpose” fast-track contest. It was in year 2005. Korea has also won “Queen of Asia & Oceania” in 2009 with Kim Joo-ri.
