As per the reports Madison Anderson Berrios has been appointed by Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico Organization to compete in Miss Earth 2016, since Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico 2016 will be held later this year. Madison is now vying to bring the first Miss Earth crown home.

The world of pageant is not new to the exquisite beauty for she has formerly won Top Model of The Year Puerto Rico 2015. Praised for her beauty, poise and sensuality, she is considered to be very strong in the coming edition of Miss Earth 2016, where she is expected to get crowned by Angelia Ong of Philippines.

Puerto Rico has never won the Miss Earth crown. The highest placement of the country was in Miss Earth 2010, whereby Yeidy Bosques from Mayaguez was adjudged as the third runner-up, also known as Miss Earth Fire. Puerto Rico has also cracked Top 8 in Miss Earth 2005, through Vanessa De Roide Toledo from Carolina.  She also won the ‘Best in Long Gown’ title.

Puerto Rico has participated in 12 of the 15 editions of the Miss Earth pageant. But, Miss Earth 2015 witnessed non-participation from Puerto Rico. Overall, the record of Puerto Rico is not so bright at Miss Earth, despite of doing well at other pageants.
