Hazel Tay is all about intelligence and talent. The beauty with brains has a Mathematical Sciences degree from the Nanyang Technological University as well as a master’s degree in Science in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago.

The Singaporean beauty contestant was born to a Bruneian mother and Singaporean father. After spending her life till high school in Brunei, she moved to Singapore for her degree courses. She loves to spend time with her family and prefers visiting and hosting friends instead of going out to clubs.

The intelligent beauty loves coding. She says that to her solving problems is really enjoyable. She experiences coding as relaxing and the longest she has coded was once for six hours when she was trying to debug a coding error.

To Hazel Tay, it is important to discover one’s own talents. She wants to support the I Am Talented (IAT) programme which helps students recognise their strengths, overcome challenges and polish their talents.

Though Hazel Tay tries to stay fit with a proper work out and healthy diet, there is one thing which she could not resist. It is her love of different kinds of cheese. She likes the creamy texture and the scrumptious taste of even blue cheese.

Once bullied in school for her tall height and tan skin, she feels that those two things are her assets apart from perseverance. She never lets negative thoughts block her road to success. Tay inspires everyone to work hard even after rejection and become a stronger person.
