Miss World beauty pageant abides by the motto “Beauty with a Purpose”, and the contest aims at spreading joy around the world. The Miss World winners are known for the charitable deeds, and that’s what the reigning Miss World is busy doing. Joining her for the social causes is Miss World New Zealand 2015, Deborah Lambie.
The two beauties recently visited Paul Public Charter School, DC to bring the students beautiful books from around the world. This has been a rule of the contest as every year the contestants are asked to bring a book from their country with pictures and descriptions when they come to join for the contest. The motive behind this rule is to create a big World Library in a school that needs them. The idea is to help the children discover countries from around the world and make them want to know more about the world and visit the places.
The kids were thrilled to see the books and explore different landscapes from around the world.
The Paul Public Charter School was joined by 17 students from South America a year ago, and the teachers have been helping the students in improving their English and indulging them in games and exercises. The children were excited to meet the two beauties and even prepared a question each to ask Mireia and Deborah. The students looked happy and enjoyed their answers. The questions were all unique and diverse and meaningful, including 'How does it feel to be famous?' to 'Who is your favourite football player?' and 'What job did you dream of as a kid?'
The beauty queens then took the opportunity to ask the same questions to the kids. Deborah shared that she had dreamt of being a doctor ever since she was a kid, and now she is able to fulfil it. The New Zealand beauty also advised them to never give up on their dreams. After a selfie session, it was time for the kids and the beauties to bid goodbye to each other..!!
