The reigning Miss Earth Angelia Gabrena Ong is in Mauritius. Angelia landed in Mauritius several hours ago after completing her four cities tour in the US, followed by her visit to Colombia and Sri Lanka. The Earth Warrior is now in Mauritius and will be fulfilling her duties as the reigning Miss Earth. She will also be attending the finale of Miss Earth Mauritius 2016 to be held on 3rd September 2016.

A total of twelve gorgeous girls are vying for the coveted title of Miss Earth Mauritius 2016, and only one will earn the right to be called Mauritius at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant. On 2nd September 2016, Angelia will proceed to the planting of a plant endemic to the primary school in Mare La Chaux. The Miss Earth Mauritius 2016 is moving ahead with the axiom of spreading the importance of preserving the environment under the project, "Earth School Tour", wherein the winner of Miss Earth Mauritius will go to schools and educate young children about the importance of eco citizens’ gestures.
Angelia reached Mauritius on 1st September and received a warm welcome by the Miss Earth Mauritius Organisation at the airport. She will be gracing the finale of Miss Earth Mauritius 2016 as a Special Guest.
