The contestants of Miss Earth 2016 beauty pageant were at an Environmental Seminar at the Century Park Hotel in Manila, Philippines with the known ‘greenest man on Earth’, Matthias Gelber. Gelber is a German environmentalist who wants to encourage people to live a green life and reduce carbon footprints. The Miss Earth contestants were very delighted to see him.

Gelber welcomed the beautiful ‘women of Earth’. He frankly talked about how he dresses green, and used everything that is green in one way or the other. He showed his eco-friendly gadgets to the ladies and also gifted a green book to the contestant who guessed the purpose of the gadget correctly.

Gelber, who developed love and interest for the Mother Earth, now wants the beauties to be passionate about doing something to benefit the planet. He further added that being at this place is itself a victory for each and every delegate, to be able to think about doing something for the land, but whoever will be crowned at the finals must carry forward the message and be ardent towards her role as Miss Earth, a representative of the healthy environment.

Miss Earth is an annual international pageant that spreads environmental awareness through ambassadors of different countries from around the world. Miss Earth 2016 wants to encourage people to adopt the 5 Rs- ‘Rethink, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, & Respect’. For the purpose, one of the delegates will be crowned to carry forward the message of Restoration and Reforestation.

Matthias Gelber, will be at the judges’ panel on the coronation night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City of Philippines, on October 29. Who do think can successfully take forward the ‘green Earth’ mission of the pageant?
