The finale of Miss Earth Guam 2016 concluded with the crowning of Gloria Nelson as the winner. Gloria succeeds Skye Celine Baker, and will now represent Guam at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant.
At the same event, Keana Artero was titled as Miss Air Guam 2016, Kayla Sasaki was adjudged as Miss Water Guam 2016 and Jessica Nunez was declared as Miss Fire Guam 2016.
Gloria Cruz Nelson was also among Angelopedia's Top 5 favourites.
Miss Earth Guam is an annual national beauty pageant held annually to select the most environmental-friendly woman in the United States territory of Guam. The finale of Miss Earth Guam 2016 started with the contestants performing their native dance form and introducing themselves to the audiences. Further, the pageant moved ahead with a series of preliminary competitions, including swimsuit and evening gown.
The preliminary competition further led to the announcement of the Top 8 finalists – Gloria Cruz Nelson, Keana Artero, Jessica Nunez, Brittany Kelene Pangelinan Perez, Kayla Sasaki, Abigail Monique Tamayo, Valentina Garcia and Janey Nauta.
In addition to announcing the winner and runners-up, a series of Special Awards were also awarded to the contestants under the following categories –

Best in Evening Gown - Kayla Sasaki
Best In Native Costume - Kayla Sasaki
Best in Swimsuit - Gloria Cruz Nelson
Miss Friendship - Jessica Nunez
People’s Choice Award - Krisha Mae Ollet Ayson
Environmental Warrior Award - Krisha Mae Ollet Ayson
The Miss Earth Guam Organization was created to work with local youth and adults to participate in environmental issues and projects. The organization aims to foster Beauties for a Cause, a cadre of young leaders and ambassadors whose mission is to encourage both local and global communities through promoting awareness on the importance of preservation, protection, and care, for the environment.
