At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2016 held on 31st August 2016 Dimanthi Edirirathne was crowned as the winner. Dimanthi succeeds Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2015 Visna Fernando, and will now represent Sri Lanka at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant.

20 years old Dimanthi hails from Kirulapana and completed her High School from Museus College. She is a currently a first year student at KDU in Logistics Management and has been working as a junior English lecturer since the age of 17. The newly crowned beauty queen loves reading and following latest trends and fashion and likes to play netball.
At the same pageant, Janani Janadari was adjudged first runner-up and Chathu Kaushalya finished as second runner-up. The finale of Miss Earth Sri Lanka was a night of glamour and panache with all the twelve contestants sashaying the ramp in different segments including evening gown, swimsuit, cocktail dress and Question and Answer rounds.
The finale of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2016 was also graced by the reigning Miss Earth Angelia Gabrena Ong. Angelia toured and travelled Sri Lanka, at the same time fulfilling her duties as the Miss Earth 2015. She was present at the final gala night and doubled the charm of the night, with her presence.
