At the gala finale of Miss Grand Japan 2016 held on 11th September 2016 Ayaka Sato was crowned as the winner. Ayaka Sato succeeds Miss Grand Japan 2015 Ayaka Tanaka, and will now represent Japan at the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant. Ayaka went through a tough competition in the contest and battled out 19 gorgeous contestants to clinch the title.

The gala finale of Miss Grand Japan 2016 was attended by the reigning Miss Grand International Claire Parker. Claire donned a stunning golden coloured satin evening gown with thigh high slit. The diagonal intricate detailing in the gown that started from the bust to the slit, made Claire look even more stunning. Claire along with Tanaka met the contestants a day before their finale, and attended their rehearsals as well.
Ayaka Sato was surprised to hear her name being announced as the winner, and the beauty shared that she entered the national finale with the motto of bringing peace to the world and wishes to pursue so further during her reign.
