At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Illinois USA 2017 on 12th September 2016 Whitney Wandland was crowned as the winner. Whitney succeeds Miss Illinois USA 2016 Zena Malak, and will now represent the state at the Miss USA 2017 pageant.
Whitney was Miss Chicago 2015 for Miss America pageant and is a dancer with the Chicago Luvabulls. She is also signed as a model and actress with Stewart Talent Management. Whitney is a budding fashion stylist who hopes to own her own ready-to-wear line someday.

At the coronation of Miss Illinois USA 2017, Degi Purav was adjudged as the first runner up, Hanna Poitras was titled as the second runner up, Gina Melchiorri was announced as the third runner up and Angel Reyes finished as the fourth runner up.
Olivia Bohleber was crowned as Miss Teen Illinois USA 2017 at the same pageant. She will now represent the state at the Miss Teen USA 2017 pageant.
If Whitney wins the Miss USA 2017 title, she will become the fifth contestant from Illinois to win the national competition. Karen Morrison in 1974, Amanda Jones in 1973, Marite Ozers in 1963 and Myrna Hansen in 1953 were the winners of Miss USA hailing from Illinois.
