Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa was recently invited for the Christmas lighting ceremony at the Malacañan Palace grounds on December 5. At the event, Kylie also met President Duterte. The beauty queen took to social media to share a selfie with the President. Kylie captioned it as her favourite picture and wrote... “Last but not the least: My favorite, after, picture.”
Kylie’s first meeting with the President was in Japan, days before the finale of Miss International 2016. The photo posted by Kylie generated mixed reactions on social media. Many were excited to see the beauty queen with President, and one even commented, “You’re not chasing him anymore. That’s one legit Miss International and President selfie.”
However, there were many who were disappointed with the picture and were not very impressed with Verzosa’s fondness for Duterte. Duterte was criticized for allowing the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. One netizen wrote, “Sad you had to post this picture with that caption. I thought you were better than that.”
