22 years old Romy Simpkins was crowned Miss International UK 2016 at the finals of the first ever UK Power Pageant. Romy will now represent the United Kingdom at Miss International 2016 to be held in October in Japan.
Romy is passionate about helping others especially the downtrodden and the needy ones. She wants to empower people to seek help, support and guidance and bring awareness to mental health in all aspect of life. “I want to be there as a friendly face for any young person who wants to come to discuss their worries or concerns. I believe that with the help of a positive mind-set you can conquer anything, but sometimes you just need that bit of extra guidance to help you through, and that’s where I want to offer my support.”, Romy’s views on helping the needy. Romy Simpkins was also a contestant at the Miss England 2015 pageant.
At the same event, Chloe Othen was crowned as Miss Intercontinental England 2016, Abigail Gliksten was crowned as Miss Intercontinental Scotland 2016, Kelly Rowland was crowned as Miss Intercontinental Wales 2016, Cherelle Patterson was crowned as Miss Grand England 2016, Gemma Palmer was crowned as Miss Grand Scotland 2016, Rachael Tate was crowned as Miss Grand Wales 2016 and Brittany Hargreaves won World Supermodel UK 2016.
