On March 24’ 2016, at a press conference which was held at the Corus Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, 20 finalists of Miss Malaysia World 2016 were announced. A general assembly was conducted to announce the name of the contestants. The Miss Malaysia World 2016 finale is slated to be held on August 27’ 2016 at Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

20 shortlisted contestants are - Janani Baskaran, Tan Hui Ling, Marissa Ong, Jessica Lim, Janice Tan, Shweta Sekhon, Loo Liu Yan, Dr Ranmeet Jassal, Tatiana Kumar, Francisca Luhong James, Ushaanthini, Amreet Sra, Chloe Wong, Adelina Chan, Joyce Khoo, Malathy, Paveetha , Sally Lee, Mary Jane Atkinson, Miffy Deyn.

lucky winner of Miss Malaysia World 2016, who will be bestowed with the opportunity to represent Malaysia at Miss World 2016 contest, will win the cash prize of RM50,000 at the end of the pageant.

On 27 May’ 2016 a Talent round will be organized for the finalists to display their talent. Before the Talent competition, these 20 contestants will get trained and learn different skills, such as: yoga, lectures, catwalk and dance skills to prepare themselves for the contest.

Miss Malaysia World 2016 pageant finale will have two major Preliminary Rounds including,  swimsuit and evening gown competitions. After these two rounds, the last five contestants will be selected to participate in the second part of the contest, which will be a quiz round. There will be 12 affiliated awards, including: Popularity Award, best social media Queen, Miss mirror on the subsidiary awards.  

During the conference, one of the finalists collapsed and fainted on the stage. Although the situation was handled by the staff, the finalist was taken backstage. Within less than five minutes, the girl came to the main lunge and continued with the conference.

The finale of Miss Malaysia World 2015 concluded on August 29’ 2015. Brynn Zalina Lovett hailing from Sabah was crowned as Miss World Malaysia 2015 at the finals held at Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Brynn will now pass on her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the 2016 finale. Who do you think will be the next Miss Malaysia World?
