Miss universe Israel 2014 and Miss universe Lebanon 2014

Politics is making its room in the 63rd edition of Miss Universe, as a run of international disturbance is making news. This time, the root of uproar is a "Selfie”. Now you may think, how can a selfie, featuring beauty contestants, lead to international disturbance? Well, it did. A selfie posted on Instagram by Doron Matalon, Miss Israel, with Saly GreigeMiss Lebanon, Miss Slovenia, and Miss Japan is becoming an international issue. Moments after the picture got viral, Lebanese beauty, Saly Greige faced warning calls, as Lebanon follows a law that forbids its citizens from associating with Israelis.

Griege clarifies her part and pleas from Lebanon for support saying, she has been victimized by a photobomb. She writes on Facebook , "I was very cautious to avoid being in any photo or communication with Miss Israel (that tried several times to have a photo with me) ... I was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself; suddenly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie, and put it on her social media."

Right after Greige’s clarifying post, Matalon responded with a Facebook post of her own, stating that “Griege's reaction doesn’t surprise me, but it still makes me sad." She added, "Too bad you cannot put the hostility out of the game, only for three weeks of an experience of a lifetime that we can meet girls from around the world and also from the neighboring country."

What do you think about the 'selfie' controversy? Should the politics of bilateral relations be kept out from Miss Universe - and let the contestants have fun and make friends with no restrictions imposed?
