Watching the Miss Universe Beauty Queen grace the finals of Puteri Indonesia is like a tradition in Indonesia. And like every year, this year too was expected to be the same, only it’s not going to be the same. Yes, like we reported earlier that the finals of Puteri Indonesia 2016 will be graced by Pia Wurtzbach, it comes out that she won’t be able to attend it.
According to sources close to Yayasan Puteri Indonesia (the local pageant org), Pia won’t be travelling and would be busy with her commitments in New York during the New York Fashion Week. Hence, now the reigning Miss International, Edymar Martinez, will attend the finals of Puteri Indonesia 2016. This news will certainly invite a sense of disappointment among pageant lovers who were looking forward to the arrival of Pia.

The finale of Puteri Indonesia 2016 is scheduled to be held on February 19’ 2016. The reigning Puteri Indonesia, Anindya Kusuma Putri, will pass on her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the finals.
Puteri Indonesia (meaning “Princess of Indonesia”), also known as Miss Universe Indonesia, is the beauty pageant in Indonesia, that selects and sends the winner for the Miss Universe international pageant. The Puteri Indonesia pageant was established in 1992 and is considered the oldest pageant in Indonesia.
