Three weeks until the universe looks up to the new Miss Universe. On 30th January 2017, the reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach will pass on her crown to her successor. While everybody is excited for the pageant, the ticket prices for the 65th Miss Universe coronation night did come across as a jaw dropping announcement. But there is something good too for all the pageant fanatics.
The Department of Tourism shared some good news with the pageant fans. During an inter-agency meeting, Tourism Undersecretary Kat De Castro announced that the National Costume show tickets will be considerably cheaper that the coronation night. Castro said, “Rest assured that definitely the pageant fanatics will get their chance to buy the cheaper tickets for the National Costume show. As of now, wala pa po tayong venue, because they're still fixing it, but they can get tickets for as low as P500 for the National Costume show."
Castro also added that this is exactly what was promised to the Department of Tourism that the fans will get the tickets for as low as P500. Now that’s one good news as the National Costume competition is one of the most anticipated events of the Miss Universe pageant. Various contestants of this year even unveiled their costume to their fans and many of them were extremely creative and had a touch of modernised creation in them. “So this is really meant for pageant fanatics, because as we all know, the national costume is one of the shows they really look forward to," said Castro.

The price for the coronation event tickets start at P2,000 and the VIP tickets are being sold at P50,000. Steve Harvey will return as the host for the finale and model Ashley Graham will be the back stage host for the event. Contestants for this year’s Miss Universe will start arriving this week, and the performers for the finale will also be finalised by the end of this week. The National Costume Competition of Miss Universe 2016 is slated to be held on 24th January 2017.
