Miss Universe 2016 pageant has kicked in and the arrival of contestants marked the beginning of the pageant. With every passing day the pageant is inching closer to the finale and the excitement is shooting up.

As the pageant is moving ahead, the delegates are gearing up for the D day. 16 out of the 86 delegates got the opportunity to travel around the country and visit Boracay, a small island in the Philippines. Representatives from Poland, Mexico, Honduras, US Virgin Islands, Namibia, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Nicaragua, Belize, Malta, Guyana, Myanmar, Turkey, Australia, and Costa Rica were the delegates who reached Caticlan at around 9 a.m and then the contestants proceeded to board a boat to Boracay at Jetty Port.

Former governor Chavit Singson, who is also the main investor in the Miss Universe pageant, will be serving as the tour guide for the girls. The girls headed to Boracay for their official photoshoot and also posted pictures of their trip on their respective social media handles. According to the Department of Tourism, in addition to the photoshoot, the girls will also be indulged in various other activities including, weaving nets, making fish houses, and participating in a dragon boat activity.

The girls were also accompanied by Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup.

Miss Universe 2016 is going to be the 65th edition of the Miss Universe pageant and is to be held on 30th January 2017. At the conclusion of the finale, Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines will pass on her crown to her successor.
