Miss Universe Ireland 2015 will be held on 27 November 2015, and the winning beauty will compete at Miss Universe 2015, slated to be held on 20 December 2015 in Las Vegas. Lisa Madden will crown her successor at the end of the event. Since Ireland’s debut in Miss Universe 1961, it has yet to produce an Irish Miss Universe. This year’s pageant is being held in Cork, where stunners from across the country will strut at the ramp before former beauty queens and celebrity judges. In their premium gowns and swimwear, the girls will be judged by former Miss Universe Ireland, Rozanna Purcel. James Kavanagh, Marc O’Neil and Brian Lee are some of the rumored judges of the event.

Last time when Ireland made its mark felt at the pageant was in 2010, with Rozanna Purcell as representative, who managed to crack the Top 10 finalist spot! Rozanna was also offered a contract with Trump Model Management after the Miss Universe 2010 competition ended, and was offered additional contracts in Mexico and Colombia. She was then invited to judge at the Miss Venezuela 2010 pageant. Other promising Irish ladies were Marlene Margaret McKeown, who was adjudged as 2nd Runner-up and Miss Photogenic in Miss Universe 1963 and Roberta Brown who was acknowledged as 2nd Runner-up in Miss Universe 1983.

In 2002, Andrea Roche Model Agency was awarded the rights to host the Miss Universe Ireland pageant and to send an Irish representative to compete at Miss Universe. This came in 2003 after the Miss Ireland Organisation changed owners and dropped the license of Miss Universe. Since then the organization has been sending the Republic of Ireland’s representative to the international beauty pageant.

This year striking ladies like Joanna Cooper, Mei ling Tong, Christine Lonergan, Sinead Connery, Nerissa Moore, Eve Ryan, Helen Maherr, Róisín Cottrell and Lisa Marie Casey will be contesting to succeed the reigning queen, Lisa Madden. The girls are all hoping to be crowned as the brand new Miss Universe Ireland and receive the honor of wearing the jeweled tiara. Lisa Madden will also be casting her expert eye over the girls’ performance on the day. The fortunate girl crowned winner tonight, will jet off to Las Vegas for the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, were she will compete other 85+ delegates across the globe!
