As Malaysian beauty Kiran Jassal is preparing herself for the gala Miss Universe 2016 finals, the 2017 contestants of Miss Universe Malaysia are also dedicatedly competing to be the next MUM. Miss Universe Malaysia also known as The Next Miss Universe Malaysia is here with its 2017 edition, and the finale is slated to be held on 23rd February 2017.
There are a total of 18 finalists vying for the coveted title, and all the 18 have the zeal to make it to the crown this year. The girls are leaving no stone unturned to mark their niche and clinch the prestigious title. The Organisation is also making sure to train its beauties well for the finals, so that whosoever wins the crown is well groomed and prepared to hail the reign.
A part of the contestants training involves getting in shape, and the official fitness partner Fitology is helping the girls achieve the desired body. Fitology runs a Calories For Calories campaign, under which each calorie burnt by the members will be converted to food to be donated to the needy. The contestants are also being trained on their catwalk skills, which is one of the most important skills for a beauty queen. A beauty queen should differential between the walk of a ramp model and a beauty pageant aspirant, and that is what is being taught to the delegates of Miss Universe Malaysia 2017. Catwalk Gurus Adrian Chee and Chris Ng are training girls with the skills and preparing them to be pageant ready.
In addition to getting trained on various aspects, the girls are also being challenged form time to time through various activities. From photoshoot challenge to skin, body language and creating important message challenge, the girls are doing it all. It’s interesting to see that the Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation is focusing on all the key factors to bring out the best in all the girls.
It’s not always training and challenges for the delegates, the Organisation also knows how to keep the girls happy. Therefore, amidst all the preparations the girls got a pampering session with a makeover by none other than celebrity hairstyle guru of Malaysia, Shawn Loong and his team at Shawn Cutler Bangsar.

The 18 finalists also had an inspiring conversation during the women empowerment discussion at the La Juiceria Mont Kiara branch, where they received valuable advice from the successful entrepreneur. It seems the Organisation is taking the responsibility of grooming the girls from all the aspect, and that’s really impressive. This is definitely going to be tough for the judges to decide one clear winner.
The gala finale is slated to be held on 23rd February 2017 at The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The winner will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant later in the year. In addition to the crown, the winner of Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 will also receive RM50,000 and sponsored prizes worth over RM150,000. Who do you think will win the coveted title this year?
