The Miss Universe 2016 pageant is over and Iris Mittenaere is enjoying the perks of her reign as Miss Universe. Miss Universe Thailand 2016 Chalita Suansane is all geared up to explore more opportunities after the MU pageant. The beauty queen is open to exploring opportunities in Philippines show business.

“The most important reason I want to (experience) show business is, of course, I want to get closer to the fans here, the ones that love me. I also want to share my experience in Thailand to them. I hope to welcome them to my country in the future,” says Chalita. Chalita, who was one of the most popular candidates of the Miss Universe pageant, cried to fans for failing to bring home the crown. But, the beauty has moved on with it and plans to give her career a kick start.

During her 10 days stay at Philippines, Chalita discovered that Filipinos and Thais are “similar in many ways.” “I think the most similar thing that Philippines and Thailand have, or what they share in common is the people. The people of the Thailand and the Philippines have the same nice hospitality. I could (tell) that from the first time I stepped into the Philippines. That’s the most important thing,” she said.

Looking back at her Miss Universe experience, Chalita felt that she trended right away upon her arrival in the country due to her 17 luggages. “The best experience I got from the Miss Universe contest was the chance to meet 85 new friends, the candidates from around the world. Another best experience is that I now know that Filipinos and Thais are similar in many ways. We are friends,” said Chalita.

Now that the Miss Universe pageant is over, Chalita plans on finishing her college degree, at the same time keeping an open mind about offers from the entertainment biz. “I’m focusing on my (studies). I’m third year in university, taking up Microbiology. I want to be a scientist in the future,” said Chalita, a student at the Mahasarakham University. “But since I have the chance to come into show business through Miss Universe Thailand, I’m open... I’m open to anything that comes to my life.”
