Miss Universe Thailand 2016 is walking on the road to the finale and is scheduled to be held on July 23’ 2016. A total of 40 gorgeous contestants are competing for the prestigious title this year, but only one will get the honour of being called as Thailand at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

The reigning Miss Universe Thailand 2015 is Aniporn Chalermburanawong, who was crowned on July 18, 2015 in Bangkok. Anipron represented Thailand at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant and made it to the Top 10 finalists, making Thailand's first placement in eight years, and first Top 10 in 27 years.

The 40 candidates were recently unveiled to the media, and along with the finalists the Miss Universe Thailand also revealed the new crown for this year which is inspired by fireworks.

Giift Tanawan, one of the forty finalists is among the front runners, and the reasons are many. Giift Tanawan was a top 25 placer in 2012 at the Elite Model Look Thailand before becoming 1st runner up Elite Model Look Thailand in 2013, a Top 10 placer in the 9th Asian Super Model contest in 2014 and was also among the Top 10 Thai Supermodel of 2014.

The delegates will have to go through a series of activities and competitions before the finals, which will be the qualifiers for the girls to confirm their placement at the finals. The girls will be judged through various rounds by a panel of judges that will include professionals and experts from various fields.
