At the conclusion of the magnificent finale of Miss Universe Thailand 2016 held on July 23’ 2016, Chalita Suansane was crowned as the winner. Chalia succeeds Miss Universe Thailand 2015 Aniporn Chalermburanawong and will now represent Thailand at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Aniporn made it to the Top 10 finalists at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.
Miss Universe Thailand 2016 was Chalita’s first pageant, and the beauty queen has never competed in any beauty pageant before. However, the crowd favourite Kusuma Chawdon didn’t even make it to the Top 5 finalists. Chalita defeated 39 other contestants to clinch the coveted title. The 5’8 1/2″ stunner came into focus after her during the preliminaries and after the costume presentation. Chalita has the classic Asian beauty, with her high cheekbones and distinctive features she has a noticeable personality and aura.

Thailand holds a decent record at the Miss Universe pageant. In 2015 the country made it to the Top 10 finalists list and also won the “Best National Costume” award. The country has won Miss Universe pageant twice – first in 1965 with Apsara Hongsakula and in 1988 with Porntip Nakhirunkanok.
