When one goes away the other makes its entry. We are talking about the Beach Beauty contest. After the Miss World Organisation announced the dismissal of Dances of the World concept, it is bringing back the Beach Beauty Contest.

For all those who aren’t familiar with the concept, the Miss World Beach Beauty Round was a fast track competition that was started in the year 2003, but was eventually discontinued. In 2014, the Head of Miss World Julia Morley eliminated the swimsuit competition in 2015.

"I don't need to see women just walking up and down in bikinis. It doesn't do anything for the woman. And it doesn't do anything for any of us," said Julia in an interview. But if sources are to be believed, the much anticipated Beach Beauty round is going to be back in the contest. The news was confirmed by Miss World Vietnam 2016, Dieu Ngoc Truong Thi.

Also, last week Miss World Russia 2016 Yana Dobrovolskaya updated a photo donning a bikini on her Instagram and wrote... “We're choosing the swimwear with @marcandandre for Miss World! Finally we have chosen a bikini swimsuit, just as I like! Will show it later.”

The rumours about the Beach Beauty contest making a comeback in Miss World started right from the beginning of the year. But it looks like the rumours were finally true. We are really excited about the re-introduction of the segment, but we do wonder what happened to all the “I don’t need to see women just walking up and down in bikinis” concept.

The segment was also necessary because it is really important for a beauty queen to be physically fit and in perfect shape. So, the swimsuit round will help showcase the fitness and form of one’s’ body. What do you think?
