Miss Mundo Brasil 2016 will be the 26th edition of the traditional national beauty pageant Miss World Brazil, which paves way for a Brazilian delegate to Miss World. It is estimated that this edition will witness the participation of more than thirty candidates vying for the crown. The finale will be held in the month of June, whereby Catharina Choi Nunes will pass on her crown to her successor.

Brazil’s quest for its new Miss World Brazil has begun with full swing. This year's competition will follow the pattern of participation of candidates from past years, both as Federation Units and Brazilian Regions Islands. This year too, the event will be held by the company MMB Beauty Promotions and Events.

Few of the confirmed delegates are Carolline Oliveira, Amanda Antunes, Caroline Venturini, Nayara Guimarães, Francielly Ouriques, Flaviane Elias, Kimberly Maciel, Gabriela Frühauf, Jheniffer Ev, Muriel Prestes, Samen dos Santos, Leticia Angelino and Nicoli Lindner. While 13 provinces have selected their representatives, many provinces are yet to search their spokeswomen.

Brazil has won the Miss World crown only once in the history till date, and that was in the year 1971 when Lúcia Tavares Petterle from Rio de Janeiro was crowned as Miss World 1971. Miss Mundo Brasil strives for originality and socio-environmental responsibility and includes in their official activities proofs of talent, sports and fashion, and encourages the practice of philanthropy in accordance with the motto of Miss World, "Beauty with a Purpose".  This year, Henrique Fontes is quite serious to bring the second crown home.

Miss World Brazil is a highly esteemed beauty pageant. It opens channels for winners to express their views on various topics in media interviews, provides opportunities for cultural enrichment, and enables them to become a role model for all generations, working tirelessly in the cause of “Beauty with a Purpose". The Miss Mundo Brasil was the first national beauty contest to include in their official activities proofs of talent, sports and fashion, and encourage the practice of philanthropy (Beauty with a Purpose), which are also the key parts of Miss World pageant.
