On 27th August 2016, Chile selected its representative for the Miss World 2016 pageant. Antonia Figueroa from Santiago has been selected to represent Chile at the Miss World 2016 pageant. Antonia succeeds Miss World Chile 2015 Fernanda Sobarzo Aguilera.

Antonia Figueroa Miss World Chile 2016

21 years old Antonia is a student of civil engineering and is a native of Coquimbo. She speaks three different languages, plays violin and is a judoka. Antonia defeated 14 other candidates who were vying for the prestigious opportunity to represent the country at the Miss World pageant. She was even honoured with the Special Award of Miss Talent after her powerful demonstration of her violin playing skills.

Chile has not yet won a Miss World crown, and although it has been competing for over 5 decades, Chile has had just 4 placements so far. In Miss World 1998, Daniella Andrea Campos Lathrop of Chile made it to the Top 10 finalists, and that was the best the country has achieved in the Miss World pageant. Gabriela Pulgar Luco of Chile won Miss World Talent in Miss World 2011 and placed in Top 20.
