Miss World Guyana organization recently announced the names of the Top 10 finalists who will be competing for the pageant this year. 

The top 10 selected candidates of Miss World Guyana 2016 are;  Ariella Basdeo (Ambassador, Region 4), Ashmini Ramnauth (Ambassador, Region 5), Damalle Jackman (Ambassador, Region 9), Divya Yabindranauth (Ambassador, Region 1), Marleena Ramdass (Ambassador, Region 6), Marva Langevine (Ambassador, Region 3), Najuma Nelson (Ambassador, Region 2), Nurriyih Gerrard (Ambassador, Region 8), Tiffany Bob Semple (Ambassador, Region 10) and Treasure James (Ambassador, Region 7).

The ten finalists have been selected from all over Guyana, and the contestants are all set to compete against each-other at the gala finale which is slated to be held on May 27’ 2016 in Georgetown.  The reigning Miss World Guyana Lisa Punch, will pass her reign and crown to her successor at the end of the pageant.

Lisa represented Guyana at the Miss World 2015 pageant held in Sanya, China on 19’ December 2015, where she was awarded with the title of ‘Miss World Talent’ and was also placed among the Top 10 finalists.

All the 10 contenders are expected to compete in various Preliminary Rounds including, Sports & Fitness, Talent, Interview, Top Model, multimedia competition, and Beauty with a Purpose, starting from May 8, 2016.  

The winner of Miss World Guyana 2016 will be bestowed with the opportunity to raise awareness on issues and causes affecting their communities, as the winner will be  serving as Finalists/Regional Ambassadors of Guyana.
