Miss World New Zealand 2016 finale concluded with the crowning of Karla de Beer. Karla will now represent New Zealand at the Miss World 2016 pageant. She was also one of our Top 5 favourites. Jessica Tyson finished as the first runner-up, whilst Cosmiana Brown finished as the second runner-up.
22 years old Karla volunteers for the charity organisation named ‘Nz Riding For The Disabled’. She aspires to start her own makeup business and start a clinical psychologist. Graceful, youthful and naive, are few words that describe best Karla’s beauty.
The Miss World New Zealand 2016 finale started with the contestant introduction in their respective regional costumes. After the introduction, the delegates competed through various Preliminary Rounds including, Fashion Show, Resort Wear and Evening Gown. After the three tier preliminary round, the delegates were then narrowed down to 6 semi- finalists –

The six finalists were then scrutinized through the Question and Answer round, wherein the contestants were asked one common question – “Given that it’s impossible for one person to save all the world’s poor children and if you personally were given the choice to join with a person or group to save as many as possible – Who would you choose and why?”
After the Q&A round, it was time to announce the results and Karla de Beer was crowned as Miss World New Zealand 2016.
Jessica Tyson, who was one of the front runners for the title was titled first runner-up. The former Whanganui beauty queen aimed for the bright shining crown of Miss World New Zealand 2016. Jessica is no stranger to beauty pageants, as at the tender age of 15 Jessica won the Miss Teen South Pacific and Miss Teen World Supermodel competitions.
