Pierina Wong Mori crowned Miss World Peru 2016 for Miss World 2016

At the conclusion of Miss World Peru 2016 finale held at the Main Square of Trujillo (La Libertad), Pierina Wong Mori was crowned as the winner. Pierina will represent Peru next year at the Miss World 2016 pageant. Pierina was crowned by Miss World Peru 1981 Olga Zumarán and succeeds Miss World Peru 2015 Karla Chocano.

Pierina defeated 16 other contestants from all over Peru to clinch the title. At the same event, Silvana Vásquez of Loreto was adjudged the first runner-up, where as Miss Amazonas Tatiana Castro was titled as the second runner-up. Monroy García from ICA-Ivanka and Ana Lucía Leiva Pereira from La Libertad were titled third and fourth runner-up respectively.

23 years old Pierina is of Chinese descent and is a student of Business Management. She is not a newbie in the world of pageantry, and has won Miss Tusan 2013 crown a pageant exclusively created for girls of Chinese -Peruvian descent. In her free time, Pierina enjoys listening to music.

Peru’s performance at the Miss World pageant has been stable so far, with two Miss World crowns; Madeline Hartog-Bel who won the 1967 edition of Miss World & María Julia Mantilla Miss World 2004. In 1959, María Elena Rossel Zapata finished as the first runner-up and in 2002 Marina Mora bagged the second runner-up crown for Peru. Will Pierina be able to bring another crown of Miss World to Peru? Does Pierina has what it takes to be a Miss World winner?
