Christine Barbier crowned as Miss World Seychelles 2016

At the conclusion of the splendid finale of Miss World Seychelles 2016, Christine Barbier was crowned as the winner. Christine will now represent Seychelles at the Miss World 2016 pageant. At the same event, Lianne Barbe was adjudged first runner-up and Samiya Albert finished as second runner-up.

24 years old Christine Barbier is an accounts assistant from Cascade. She was also voted Miss Personality, Miss Sport and Miss Talent. Chirstine loves swimming and is dedicatedly focussed on her project - Children’s Home; Comfort, Care & Continuity. “I have chosen to dedicate my project to the young adults that has been living in the children home, since they have been a baby, or toddler, and at the age of 17 years only,” said Christine during her pre-finals interview.

Christine defeated 11 other contestants to clinch the coveted title of Miss World Seychelles 2016. Seychelles has not yet won a Miss World crown. However, Seychelles had made it to the semi-finalists list twice at Miss World beauty pageant - Jane Edna Straevens Victoria in 1972 and June Gouthier in 1973.
