Romina Fernandez has been appointed Miss World Uruguay 2014 (or Miss Mundo Uruguay 2014). She succeeds Mercedes Bissio Del Puerto, Miss World Uruguay 2013. Romina, 20 years of age, was the first runner-up at Miss Universe Uruguay 2014 pageant. She will now represent Uruguay at Miss World 2014 pageant to be held on December 14' 2014 in London, England.
Miss Universe Uruguay 2014 pageant was held on January 19' 2014 which was won by Johana Riva, and Romina was the Vice Queen. Romina also won the special award for Natural Beauty at the event.
In 2013, Uruguay did not participate in Miss World 2013, and with Romina now being appointed Miss World Uruguay 2014, Uruguay returns to Miss World after a gap of two years.
