Meet Nan Khine Shwe Wahwin Miss Earth 2016 Finalist

18 years old Nan Khine Shwe Wahwin, standing tall at an astounding height of 170 cm, is one of our favourites for the Miss Earth 2016 title. Currently a student, Nan Khine comes from a broken family and has stayed with her aunt.

Nan Khine believes that “A man-made problem has a man-made solution.”  This Myanmar beauty loves to dance and has inclination towards music. Giving a detailed description about her environmental advocacy, Nan said, “I’ve chosen Environmental Awareness Programs for School Children in my country as my environmental advocacy. The reason why I chose this project is that I am very passionate not only about teaching but also about sharing my experiences to others as well as I do love kids. Environmental Education should be taught to all children from primary to middle class as core subject. I have been trying to make it one of the top priorities of Education in Myanmar. It is the project to inspire and educate our younger generation on environmental knowledge and good practices about 5R (Rethink, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, and Respect). Young children are very curious and take in a great deal about the people and objects within their environment. This is the perfect time to begin sowing the seeds of awareness about caring for the environment. Another reason for starting with young children is that their families are heavily involved with their learning. By teaching young children about the environment, parents gain environmental awareness through becoming involved with home projects. This is also a chance for parent education. Our Kids are our leaders of tomorrow. So, I believe the kids’ environmental education is critical to sustainable development of our mother earth. That’s why I am making many school tours around the nation cooperating with the NGO and local environmental organizations in Myanmar. My aim is to be a part of global movement by working hand in hand with government, private sector, local communities to help preserving and protecting the environment through this advocacy.”
