Nathalia Kaur Pinheiro was crowned Miss Rio de Janeiro 2015 at the pageant, held on September 19, 2015 in the capital of Brazil. The finale was attended by eighteen candidates vying for the title.
The 24 year old competed at the Miss World Brazil 2015 (Miss Mundo Brasil 2015) where she finished as the top 10 finalist. Her mother is of Portuguese descent while her father is of Portuguese and Indian descent. Pinheiro worked as a model since she was 14 and continued to do so while studying law at Universidade Cândido Mendes, before quitting to work as a full-time model when received an offer in India. She has made her niche in the world of Bollywood (Indian cinemas).
Nathalia also contributed in various social projects in India, which also holds true for her title Miss Mundo Espírito Santo, (Miss World Holy Spirit). She deems that the Miss World motto of Beauty with a purpose only confers her more power to work more towards social causes.
