The magnificent grand coronation night of Femina Miss India 2016 was culminated after crowning Priyadarshini Chatterjee as Femina Miss India 2016. The coronation night was held on April 9’ 2016 at the ‘Yash Raj Studios’ in Mumbai wherein the beauty queen clinched the coveted title and the crown of Miss India 2016 after defeating 20 other beautiful aspirants.
Priyadarshini Chatterjeewas crowned by her predecessor Miss India World 2015 Aditi Arya. At the same event, Sushruthi Krishna was adjudged as first runner up, while Pankhuri Gidwani was titled as second runner up. Priyadarshini Chatterjee will represent India at the forthcoming Miss World 2016 pageant and the runners up will compete for other international titles.
The splendid event was judged by eminent personalities from the pageant and tinsel-town industry like reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna Royo, reigning Miss India World Aditi Arya, Kabir Khan, who is a Bollywood (Indian) film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, Designer Shane Peacock, Bollywood actress Yami Gautam, Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Television Czarina Ekta Kapoor, Tennis star Sania Mirza, Bollywood actress Amy Jackson and fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
The 2016 edition saw electrifying performances by Bollywood (Indian Cinema)stars –Shahid Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Tiger Shroff, rapper Badshah and Varun Dhawan was performed at the grand finale. While, the pageant was hosted by the eminent Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar with his co-host comic actor Manish Paul.
The finale being with the 21 gorgeous finalists being introduced in stunning Indian couture collection by prominent Indian designer, Anju Modi. The delegates looked drop dead gorgeous.
The finalists were seen setting the ramp on fire donning stunning evening gowns by ace designers.

The Top ten semi - finalists were further examined and scrutinized under the radar of other eminent pageant skills, and were narrowed down to Top 5 finalists including - Navpreet Kaur, Pankhuri Gidwani, Priyadarshini Chatterjee, Roshmitha Harimurthy and Sushruthi Krishna. The top 5 finalists were escorted on the ramp by popular actors and other TV stars.

After declaring the names of the winners, the juries asked a common question to the Top 5 aspirants. The common question was –
What are the qualities required in MissIndia 2016 and why do you deserve to win today?
Navpreet Kaur was the first girl to answer. She said, "A Miss India should have a compassionate heart, a good body and a hard working person and I have all these qualities."
Pankhuri Gidwani believes a Miss India should have a focused mind, a good heart and a good set of lips to smile and spread happiness. She said, “ I am a people person and I believe I have all these qualities to be the next Miss India.”
Priyadarshini Chatterjee was the next one to answer. She said that “Miss India should be true to herself, she should have a personality to refelect who she is. My personality reflects that and that's why I should be the next Miss India.”
Roshmitha Harimurthy answered: “Miss India should have an emotional stabilty, humbleness and empathy and I have all these 3 qualities.”
Sushruthi Krishna said, “The qualities that a Miss India should have are perseverance, hardwork and unconditional love for what you do. I believe I have all the qualities.”
