The stunning beauty Raquel Tejedor Melendez from Aragón has been crowned as Miss World Spain 2016 (Miss Mundo España 2016) at the gala finale held held on 17th September 2016, wherein 25 girls representing various Spanish provinces competed for the coveted title. At the same pageant, Miss Lleida, Carla Font Cabrera was the first runner-up and Miss Madrid, Miriam Paredes Gines finished as the second runner-up.
Raquel succeeds Mireia Lalaguna, the Miss World Spain 2015 (also the reigning Miss world), and will now go on to represent Spain in the 66th Miss World contest to be held in Washington D.C on 20th December. She will be trained for the international pageant by Ricardo Rodriguez, a beauty expert.

The gala pageant of Miss World Soain 2016 was held at the Auditorium Theater (TAS) and was televised live. It is the first time the capital of the Costa Daurada hosted the event. The delegates were involved in various preliminary activities. The contestants were judged on the basis of their beauty; performance, and values.
