10 Feb 2017 | Angelopedia

Last year, there were news that the Miss Venezuela Organisation faced its toughest year ever due to the Caribbean country's fierce economic crisis. Due to the crisis, Miss Venezuela Organisation decided to give up the Miss Earth franchise. Osmel Sousa gave up the Miss Earth franchise. During Osmel’s time, Venezuela won two Miss Earth title – 2005 and 2013.

Now, the first ever Miss Venezuela Earth pageant is up for the national casting. The winner of Miss Venezuela Earth will represent the country at the Miss Earth 2017 pageant to be held later this year. Last year, the representative for Miss Earth was chosen by Alyz Henrich, Miss Earth 2013 and Prince Julio Cesar, the new national directors of Miss Earth Venezuela pageant.

Stephanie de Zorzi was appointed as the Miss Earth Venezuela 2016 in a small ceremony where she was crowned Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich. Stephanie represented Venezuela at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant and was placed as the Miss Earth Water (second runner-up). She easily got numerous supporters in the Philippines. She competed with 82 other delegates from around the world. During the pre-pageant events, Stephanie was able to get a silver medal during the press presentation as part of the "Darling of the Press" award.

So the new organisation all up to crown its first ever Miss Earth Venezuela. Will the new organisation be able to maintain the standard of representatives to Miss Earth? Only time will tell. We can’t wait for the pageant to start. What about you?
