Guyana has a decent placement record at Miss World. The proof of it lies in the fact that the organization has now decided to introduce few changes in the pattern of Miss World Guyana 2016. The Miss World Guyana Organization will be announcing the Top 10 Finalists/Regional Ambassadors on Feb 23’ 2016.

In their effort to follow the Miss World competition, the Miss World Guyana organizers have decided to eradicate the swimwear segment of the upcoming Miss World Guyana 2016 Pageant. In an exclusive interview, the National Director and franchise holder, Natasha Martindale, stated that the Miss World Guyana Organization will replace the Swimsuit Segment with a Regional Dance Segment, following it to the Dances of the World segment. The 10 finalists will need to prepare and perform a dance signifying their respective administrative regions in which they will be representing, this includes presenting a costume.

At Miss World 2015, the last year Miss Guyana titleholder, Lisa Punch became one of the Top 11 finalists along with bagging the Miss World Talent title, Top 10 at Beauty with a Purpose and Top 5 at Multimedia Award. Since its participation, Guyana has placed eight times at Miss World, producing four runner ups and four semi-finalists.
