The reigning Miss World, Rolene Strauss travelled to USA, implementing her Beauty with a Purpose journey. The cause behind the trip to the US was the Miss World’s traditional appearance at the Iowa Variety Telethon. Rolene participated in the 41st Iowa Variety Telethon on March 7’ 2015. Variety is a Children’s Charity organization dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children, promoting and protecting the health and well-being of children throughout Iowa and around the world. Since 1975, Iowans have come together to contribute towards the annual Variety telethon.
Rolene actively participated at the fund raising event held at Grand Ballroom in the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center at Vets Memorial Auditorium. The Iowa Variety Telethon included Rapping, Beat boxing etc all to raise funds for the children. As part of the project, Rolene visited Youth Emergency Services and Shelter (YESS), Iowa. She also got herself a tour to Child Serve and ?Blank Children's Hospital to meet the children and interact with them.
