Steve Harvey must be the happiest man on Earth...I mean why not, the Miss Universe Gaffe popularized him throughout the world. Andrea Tovar said that he is popular in Colombia, and recently Oscars 2017 just replayed the Miss Universe stint while announcing their winners. The latest popularity that Harvey has gained is in Brazil, of course for all the wrong reasons..!!
Steve learned this the hard way. While interviewing a 6 year old drummer from Brazil, Eduarda, at his NBC show, Little Big Shots, he got to know that he is quite popular in Brazil. “Let me ask you a question: Am I famous in Brazil?” Harvey asks the little girl, who gifts him a pair of drumsticks. Eduarda replied, “Yeah, You’re famous in all of Brazil and America because of the Miss Universe.”
His jubilation came to an abrupt halt when little Eduarda poked him in the side and explains the reason for his fame. Ever since the not so famous Miss Universe blunder, Harvey has been the butt of joke everywhere, and he seems to quite enjoy it himself.
During the finals of Miss Universe 2015, Harvey mistakenly announced Colombia as the winner, instead of Philippines. Harvey however, came ahead apologising about the situation and said that the embarrassing flub was “devastating.” However, even after the gaffe, he returned to host the televised pageant again in January, where he mocked his big flub.
